ZDF: «deadly» signal to Russia turned out to protest in Germany

Dispatch to Eastern Europe armoured brigade of NATO, which were supposed to demonstrate Russia’s power and the unity of the countries of the Alliance turned out to protest actions in Germany, reports RIA Novosti with reference to the German channel ZDF.

Strengthening the Eastern flank, NATO has taken a new dimension after American soldiers crossed the Polish border. The brigade, numbering more than 3.5 thousand soldiers, will be stationed in the city żagań in the West country, the channel says.

«We have a large and incredibly deadly armoured brigade. Our goal is to increase huge and intimidating building in Eastern Europe», — said Christopher norrie, the Commissioner General of the U.S. army in the comments for ZDF.

While Poland and the Baltic States approve sending soldiers and consider this event as a measure of enhancing security in Europe, the German population responded with protests, which took part in the first place, leftists and activists of the peace movement, the channel reports.

The approval of Germany is extremely important for the further expansion of NATO’s presence in Eastern Europe, since Berlin will have to take command of units of the Alliance in Lithuania, emphasizes ZDF.
