The U.S. government expressed dissatisfaction with the visit of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to Abkhazia. It is reported RIA Novosti citing a statement by state Department spokesman Heather Nauert.
According to the press service of the us Department, the US government believes that Putin’s visit to Abkhazia allegedly violated the territorial integrity of Georgia. The Department of state the territory of Abkhazia called «occupied by Russia» and the Russian leader’s visit there as «unacceptable and contrary to the terms of the Geneva discussions.»
Representatives of the U.S. state Department has urged Moscow to reconsider the recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia independent from Georgia territory.
We will remind, Vladimir Putin’s visit to Abkhazia was held on Tuesday, August 8. He passed on the anniversary of the «5-day war» of 2008.
