«On December 11, the US Consulate in St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok will resume interviews for nonimmigrant visas to a limited extent», — the Embassy said.
According to the decision of the Russian government, staff of all diplomatic missions of the USA in Russia for September 1 has been reduced from 1200 to 455. The procedure for issuing new visas have been suspended since August 23 and resumed on 1 September in Moscow, all previous appointment was cancelled.
In late November, US Ambassador to Russia John huntsman during a visit to Yekaterinburg reported on the possibility of resumption of issuing visas in the region.
