Ukrainian believers pray at the walls of the Verkhovna Rada, for fear of the banning of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in the country. This was reported by TASS, citing Ukrainian television.

«It’s not a rally, not a political action, it is prayer. Believers try to appeal to MPs through prayer that is not accepted irreligious, uncivil, unconstitutional laws that Parliament today introduced», — said the representative of the Synodal information Department of the UOC-MP, Bishop Clement.

In Parliament on Thursday plans to consider two bills, adoption of which may lead to prohibition of activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in the country. At the same time, the Deputy head of the faction «Block of Petro Poroshenko» Alexey Goncharenko declared that these documents are actually withdrawn.

«We have three hundred times think before to climb through legislation in matters related to the Church. Don’t think we need to consider them and to consider them we will not» — he said.
