The state Duma adopted amendments to the bill on online-cinemas

At the plenary session of the state Duma has approved amendments to the draft law on online-cinemas. In particular, proposed limiting to 20 percent the share of foreign participation in such services. In addition, a special register will include sites that distribute audiovisual works, and attendance is more than 100 thousand Russian users a day.

According to the adopted amendments, sites that distribute audiovisual works, and attendance is more than 100 thousand Russian users per day will be considered as audiovisual services. They will be included in a special register. The resources on which audiovisual works are mostly Internet users (e.g. YouTube), are not audiovisual services.

It also introduces liability for the owner of such a resource for the distribution of unregistered mass media harmful to health and child development information, and information which contains public calls to extremist activities.
