The Russians have less to fear wage cuts

The number of Russians who are afraid of lowering wages has decreased by 10% compared with the year 2016, the study said Ranepa. Experts believe that this is due to the situation on the labor market, when companies get rid of lazy employees, but are willing to pay big money to professionals.

The people of Russia have less to fear of lower wages. According to the research of the Ranepa, the number of citizens who believe that are at risk, decreased by almost 10% in comparison to 2016. The percentage of those who are afraid of losing their jobs, remained unchanged, the newspaper «Izvestia».

Experts argue that this is due to the situation on the labor market, when companies get rid of lazy employees, but are willing to pay big money to professionals.

The Ranepa survey was conducted among 1,600 Russians in June of this year. In 2016, the potential risk of a reduction of salaries to the half — 49.9 percent, and that of 40.4%.

In the Ranepa said that the increased optimism in assessments of the economic situation may contribute to the fact that part of the working population has ceased to feel at risk.

However, a third of respondents are afraid of layoffs. In may 2015, 30.3% of respondents thought that the risk of losing workplace. In June 2016, the figure rose to 38.8%. And remained almost at the same level in June 2017 — 36,6%.
