The head of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach commented on the information about a possible boycott of the Olympic games-2018 by Russian athletes. Bach said he did not understand such a position. He added that the decision of the IOC on the admission of athletes from Russia under a neutral flag was not political, writes AFP Sports
On Tuesday, 6 December, the IOC announced its decision to disqualify the Russian Olympic Committee, as well as many athletes. «Clean» athletes are allowed participation in the Olympic games in Pyeongchang, however, under a neutral flag. After announcement of the decision has information about a possible boycott of the Games in South Korea.
Thomas Bach said that he sees no reasons why Russian sportsmen have to give up the opportunity to take part in the Olympics.
He reminded that the athletes are not involved in doping scandal can participate in the Games. According to Bach, the IOC proved their existence.
