As the channel L!FE, St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko addressed to the head of Ministry of transport Maxim Sokolov with a request to reconsider the order regarding the closure of the Neva in the summer. The document was sent to the Federal office.
Georgy Poltavchenko asked to reconsider the ban on shipping of pleasure and sporting boats on the rivers and canals of the Northern capital during the football Confederations Cup. In his opinion, this has a negative impact on the image of the city during the tourist season and will result in serious losses. In his letter to St. Petersburg Governor proposes to reduce the period of limitations, and to designate certain areas or waterways that fall under this prohibition. He stressed that the traditional holiday of graduates «Scarlet Sails», which is held annually on 23 June, is also under threat.
IReactor previously wrote about the fact that all the rivers and channels of St. Petersburg will be closed for a month during the Confederations Cup.
