The German Ambassador again reminded Kiev that the issue of Ukraine’s accession to NATO is not even on the agenda.
Kiev authorities in the coming decade not to worry about Ukraine joining the North Atlantic military bloc – the question in the Alliance is not even on the agenda. In an interview with one of the local Newspapers said the Ambassador of Germany in Ukraine, Ernst Reichel.
A German diplomat once again reminded Kiev that Ukraine is not ready to join NATO. The previous summit in Warsaw of the Alliance and, in particular, the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO reaffirmed the commitment of participants to the open door policy, but before the implementation of Kiev assumed obligations no question of joining the unit can not be.
Commenting on the current state of Affairs, Ernst Reichel said that «the question of membership (of Ukraine – ed.) is not on the immediate agenda».
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said that the implementation of commitments from Kiev may take a large amount of time. According to many experts, in the next 20 years to talk seriously about the entry of Ukraine into NATO is not necessary.
