The first passenger flight landed at the new airport «Platov» near Rostov

New international airport «Platov» in the Rostov region built in preparation for the world Cup, took the first passenger flight from Moscow. Now «Platov» transferred all the flights that were previously at the international airport «Rostov-on-don».

The first passenger flight landed at the new airport «Platov» in Aksai district of Rostov region, reports TASS.

The first flight from Moscow airport «Vnukovo» was performed by the airline «Victory. «It is expected that on Thursday, the airport will take and send the ships of other carriers to the cities as Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Norilsk, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Simferopol, tel Aviv, Tbilisi and Yerevan.

In addition, «Platov» transferred all the flights that were previously at the international airport «Rostov-on-don». At 11:00 Moscow time it stopped working.

«Transfer of service of airlines and passengers from one airport to another, located at a distance of 30 kilometers from Rostov-on-don for the first time in the history of domestic aviation is made without a break in flight operations», — noted in a press-service of the airport.

Airport «Platov» was the first air harbour, built in Russia after 1991. Its construction began in preparation for the world Cup in 2018, as to expand the old airport «Rostov-on-don» was impossible because of its location – it is located in the city centre.
