The EU Council adopted a decision on the development of a system of diplomatic action in response to a large-scale cyber attacks. According to TASS, last resort may be the imposition of sanctions.
In a statement the Council said that a diplomatic response to the EU «malicious cyber activity will include the full range of activities in the framework of the common foreign policy and security, including, if necessary, restrictive measures».
The document States that the Ministers of foreign Affairs agreed to create a «special tool CyberTipline to respond to large-scale malicious activities in cyber environment.»
The EU foreign Ministers stressed that the EU «is committed to resolving any international disputes and conflict in the cyber environment through peaceful means». In this case, all the actions of the EU «shall contribute to the promotion of cybertablet and cybersecurity».
