Fund «Public opinion» published a poll, according to which the Russians have less confidence in the media reports about the economic situation in the country.
The Russians have less trust in the media reports about the economic situation in the country – such conclusion was made by the Fund «Public opinion» after the results of a survey of Russians.
According to the Fund, the number of Russians who are skeptical of the press reports on the economic theme, increased by 10% compared to 2015, and was now 51%.
46% of respondents said that media coverage of the situation in the Russian economy is biased. With them argued 32% of respondents, and 21% of the participants found it difficult to give a definite answer.
In an interview to IA «National news», honoured economist of Russia Yevgeny goldfein noted that the perception the media doesn’t always depend on how the media delivers facts. Influenced by age and social factors:
«In General, talking about all the media that they deliberately distort information about the economic situation in the country, is not entirely correct. Manipulation in some editions there, but usually they manifest themselves not in numbers, but in the form of «applied rhetoric». Some media do exaggerate. Can do it on emotion, on feelings.»
According to the economist, many people often do not think about how good or bad the economic situation in the country the media cover. It is more important than their own well – being- wages, prices, pensions. The older people are, the more susceptible they are to these figures and often notice flaws in the economic situation in the country, and young people tend to be more optimistic.
