The international Olympic Committee (IOC) adopted on Tuesday a decision to remove teams from Russia from the Olympics in South Korea. This was stated by the President Thomas Bach at a press conference following the meeting of the IOC Executive Board.
The IOC will provide an opportunity for certain Russian athletes to compete in the neutral status, if they prove that they did not use doping.
The Olympic Committee of Russia (OKR) has been disqualified by the decision of the Executive Committee. Also to all the officials from the Ministry of sports of Russia denied accreditation to the Games in Pyeongchang.
Vice-Premier of the Russian Federation Vitaly Mutko barred for life from visiting the Olympic games as official. It is reported TASS with reference to the press service of the IOC.
Also from attending subsequent Games removed the former Deputy sports Minister Yuriy Upland.
Also, the IOC has suspended the membership of the head of the ROC Alexander Zhukov in the organization.
Also OCD needs to reimburse the IOC expenditures in the amount of $15 million, which the organization spent on the investigation of doping violations by the Russian side. The IOC believes that R & d should contribute to the creation of an Independent organization of the doping test, the purpose of which is to build a global and holistic anti-doping system.
