The court of Dusseldorf has dismissed claims against the expansion of Russia’s Gazprom access to the German gas pipeline Opal, Reuters reports with reference to the pipeline operator on Friday. Court spokesman declined to comment, the Agency said.
The Opal representative of the operator reported that the court rejected the claim of the Polish PGniG and its German subsidiaries, which opposed the expansion of the access of Gazprom to Opal capacity.
«I can confirm that all statements rejected and Opal Gastransport can offer its power to the market», — said the representative of the operator.
Gazprom declined to comment.
In December 2016 located in Luxembourg the European court of General jurisdiction has restricted the use of German gas pipeline the Russian company after complaints of Poland, but this summer reversed its decision, after which the court of Dusseldorf ruled that the reasons for limiting access of Gazprom to Opal is not.
The decision of the court of Dusseldorf has a direct bearing on the prospects of construction of the gas pipeline «Nord stream-2», as the build-up of gas supplies via the second line in Europe is possible only with expanded access «Gazprom» to the capacity of Opal.
