Scientists have discovered scary effects of lack of sleep

Scientists have learned how lack of sleep affects on the intestinal microflora.

The scientific staff of Uppsala University of Sweden conducted a study which involved ten healthy men. All subjects had to sleep four hours a day for two days.

Experts have studied the changes in the subject’s organism, during this time, and found a clear increase in the number of bacteria in the Firmicutes compared to Bacteroidetes bacteria.

Scientists have noticed the same trend in experiments on obese people and owners of a slim figure.

In addition, the experts came to the conclusion that the lack of sleep by 20 % lowers insulin sensitivity. Children who have a lack of good sleep habit in the future are more likely to become alcoholics or drug addicts.
