Russia will repay the debt of the USSR in 2017

Russia will complete the calculations with countries that owed the Union in 2017. The Finance Ministry said that in the coming months will sign an agreement with Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is the last country that needs to pay the national debt of the Soviet Union.

In 2017, Russia will complete the settlement of accounts with countries that owed to the Soviet Union. The agreement on the repayment of past debt is to be signed, the newspaper «Izvestia».

A source in the government claims that signing the document would in the coming months. A week ago, the Finance Ministry announced the repayment of the debt to Macedonia in the amount of 60.6 million dollars. It noted that the last country with which Russia will have to pay for the debt of the USSR remains the other state of the former Yugoslavia — Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In a press-service of the Ministry of Finance stressed that the repayment should be made at the expense of the budget, provided that in 2017 on the settlement of debt. According to the official documents of the Agency, for this purpose incorporated 512,3 billion. Russian-Bosnian-Herzegovinian intergovernmental agreement will be signed by the Ministry of Finance on behalf of the government. Debt repayment will be made within 45 days from the moment of its ratification.
