Russian President Vladimir Putin said the details of the meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe. The sides discussed the possibility of signing a peace Treaty and the prospects of cooperation in the economic sphere.
According to Putin, talks with Abe was thorough. In addition, the Russian leader stressed that economic cooperation between Russia and Japan will give the possibility to form «the Foundation necessary to establish a genuine partnership».
In turn, Shinzo Abe said that Moscow and Tokyo over the past seven months failed to elaborate a joint work plan, which the Prime Minister of Japan presented during a visit to Sochi in may 2016.
