Putin has appointed a new head of the state traffic Inspectorate of Russia

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has appointed major-General Mikhail Chernikov, head of the state traffic Inspectorate of the country. The President also made a number of resignations and appointments in law enforcement bodies of the country.

Major-General Mikhail Chernikov was appointed head of the Main Department on security of traffic of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia. The corresponding decree of President Vladimir Putin was posted on the official portal of legal information.

«To appoint the General-the major of police Chernikov Mikhail Yurievich — head of the Main Department on security of traffic of the Ministry of internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, relieving him from his post», — stated in the text of the decree.

The same document the President has made several appointments and layoffs in law enforcement.

The previous head of the traffic police Viktor Nilov was dismissed by presidential decree on March 29. According to the source «Interfax», the dismissal is connected with achievement of age limit of tenure.
