Putin appointed Alexei Erchov Ambassador of Russia in Turkey

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has appointed Alexei Erchov the new Ambassador to Turkey. He headed the Russian diplomatic mission instead of killed December 19, 2016 Andrew Charles. Now Argov is the Director of the Situational crisis center of the Ministry of foreign Affairs.

The new Ambassador of Russia in Turkey was Alexei erchov. The corresponding decree was signed by President Vladimir Putin.

«To appoint Erchova Alexey Vladimirovich, Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Turkey», — stated in the text of the decree published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

From 2010 to 2015 Alex erchov held the post of Consul General of Russia in Istanbul. In addition, erhov holds the position of Director of the Department of the situational crisis center of the foreign Ministry.

Former Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov, was shot dead on December 19 at the opening of the exhibition Russian cultural center in Ankara. The foreign Ministry called the incident a terrorist attack. Charles was posthumously awarded the title Hero of Russia.
