Moscow expressed readiness to exchange convicted by a U.S. court of Russian pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko who is serving on the punishment in Russia of prisoners of citizens of the United States.
The Russian authorities made the United States the exchange offer 13 Americans per Yaroshenko, the newspaper «Izvestia», citing
the response of the presidential administration of Russia on the appeal of the mother of pilot Yaroshenko Lyubov.
It is noted that among the prisoners in Russia, the Americans took advantage of 13 on the Council of Europe Convention of 1983 and submitted the transfer application in the United States. Among the petitions was a statement from an American citizen Gennady Klotsman, who was convicted in December 2011 for ten years.
Russian pilot Yaroshenko was also convicted in 2011 and sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 20 years. The us Supreme court accused the Russians that he allegedly orchestrated a conspiracy to deliver large quantities of drugs.
The court of appeals of new York in April 2016 was denied Yaroshenko in the revision of the sentence. Advocates of the pilot said on the possibility of appeal to the Supreme court.
