Media: Prime Minister of Japan asked the U.S. to assist in the rescue of abducted Japanese in the DPRK

Shinzo Abe, who served as Prime Minister of Japan, as part of his European tour, will visit only the UK and Russia. In addition, the Prime Minister asked the US to help in rescuing citizens abducted by North Korea. This information was given by the newspaper «Amuri».

According to the original plans, the Japanese politician had to visit several European countries. However, the plans of Prime Minister was changed due to the aggravated situation on the Korean Peninsula. The visit of Shinzo Abe to the Russian Federation scheduled for the end of April. It is noted that the President of Russia Vladimir Putin will discuss political figure from Japan issues concerning economic cooperation between the countries in the South Kuril Islands.

Earlier, Shinzo Abe announced that he has sent to the White house request for assistance to rescue the abducted Japanese in the territory of the Democratic people’s Republic. In addition, the Japanese government submitted for consideration a bill, under which it is proposed to increase the number of North Korean citizens who will be forbidden to visit the country of the rising sun.
