Ministry of economic development has improved the forecast on inflation in Russia at year-end. It should be 5.6 percent. According to the Ministry, this became possible thanks to a stronger ruble and maintaining low consumer demand in the country.
The Ministry of economic development of Russia has slightly improved the forecast of inflation in the country by the end of 2016. About it reports TASS. «By the end of 2016 of consumer inflation, according to the Russian Ministry for economic development, will be 5.6%, slightly lower than in the official forecast, the result of a stronger ruble and continued low consumer demand», — stated in the message.
It is noted that in November the rise in prices remained at the level of October. It was 0.4 percent. Since the summer of this year inflation continued to decline from 7.5% to 5.8%. It is also noted that for the period from January to mid-December 2016 the increase in prices was 5.2%, which is a great success compared to last year, when the rate stayed at 12.5%.
Earlier on a press-conferences the President of Russia Vladimir Putin said that inflation by the end of 2016 will be at 5.5%. According to the head of state is a record low.
