The Kremlin is extremely concerned about the escalation of the conflict in the Donbas, which speaks of the unwillingness of the Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko to implement the Minsk agreement, said the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
The Kremlin has reliable data that indicate that yesterday the «independent units» attempted attacks on the territory controlled by the self-proclaimed republics of Donbas, Peskov said.
«They crossed the line with artillery support. The militia of Donbass had to fight back in the vicinity of the Town, had to recapture the occupied territory. This invasion was foiled. We are extremely sorry that as a result of this attack, which was carried out against the militia of Donbass, killing people with the one on the other side,» he said.
Peskov said that talking about the possibility of Kiev to control such groups is not necessary, but their offense has received the support of the Ukrainian armed forces. According to him, such aggressive manifestations organizes the Ukrainian leadership «with a purpose».
«Apparently, some kind of attempt to divert attention to something else takes place,» he added.
On 29 January, the situation on the contact line in the Donbass deteriorated sharply. APU has increased the number of attacks in Donetsk, Yasinovataya and Avdeyevka. There are victims among civilians.
