Today, October 29, in Russia and the former Soviet Union celebrated the day of the motorist, which is also known as the Day of workers of motor transport.
Originally a professional holiday of workers, workers in the field of road transport, was celebrated throughout the USSR. Then the date was officially established on 15 October 1976. Then, after the division of Soviet Union into independent States, the day of the motorist began to celebrate mostly citizens of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.

It should be understood that in our time the day of the motorist — it’s not just the professional holiday of drivers, but also maintenance workers, engineers, and managers of trucking companies and all other citizens who are working hard in the transport sector. Every year on the last Sunday of October is celebrated the huge contribution they make every day in our lives, making it easier and more comfortable.
