In 2018, Russia is expected to lower prices for clothes made in the country. This can happen due to zero customs duty on knitted fabric and viscose fiber, the newspaper «Izvestia».
The Ministry noted that the measures of the customs policy will reduce the cost of clothing, will allow to saturate the domestic market with raw materials for certain industries of light industry and increase the share of domestic products on the domestic market.
From 1 September 2017, the Eurasian economic Commission (EEC) zeroed on the year customs duty on the import of knitted fabrics hand or machine knitting. According to the decision of the EEC, from 2 January 2018 and will become effective zero import duty on certain artificial viscose fiber. So it will be until the end of 2019.
According to estimates of industry representatives, now up to 70% of necessary light industry raw material is imported. While tricot and viscose fibers in Russia is extremely small. Currently in Russia on a permanent basis stored in import duty rates at 0% just for tanned skin.
According to experts, next year the price of clothing may be reduced by 10%.
