Foreign Ministry: the West is not interested in establishing the truth about the chemical attack in Syria

Deputy foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov said that the countries which voted against the Russian-Iranian plan for the investigation himataki in Syria, has taken a destructive position. According to him, the West is not interested in establishing the truth about the incident in Khan Sheyhun.

The West is not interested in establishing the truth about what happened in the Syrian Khan Sigune. This was reported by TASS with reference to Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Ryabkov.

«The results of today’s voting at the special session of the OPCW Executive Council has demonstrated that Western countries and some who joined her state is not interested in establishing the truth,» he said.

Informed the OPCW Executive Council rejected the proposal of Russia and Iran to investigate the incident with the use of chemical weapons in Syria. Moscow and Tehran have insisted on holding it directly on the scene in Khan Sheyhun and at the base of a Shirt. In addition, Russia and Iran proposed to balance the composition of the investigative group.

Ryabkov said on the condemnation of the positions of the countries that voted against the initiative. According to him, the West showed «the essence of his destructive line.» The diplomat stressed that these countries have caused serious damage to the reputation of the OPCW, and has complicated the search for a way out of the Syrian crisis.
