Erdogan called Turkey’s participation in a joint operation with the US to liberate Raqqa from Syrian militants

According to the Turkish President, the Turkish armed forces will not participate in a military operation, if it will involve the Kurds.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the country is ready to join the international coalition led by the US and to take part in a military operation for the liberation of Raqqa from Syrian militants of the terrorist organization «Islamic state» (IG, is prohibited in Russia).

Turkish President stressed that the Turkish armed forces will join the coalition in that case, if the operation will not be attracted by the Kurdish party «Democratic Union» and the Kurdish people’s protection units in Syria. This was stated by the official representative of the Turkish President.

We will remind that on 24 September, Turkey began in Northern Syria near the city Dzharablus military operation «shield of the Euphrates» against Islamic state terrorists.
