The first meeting of Mollo with the Director of «Star wars» George Lucas happened in 1975. They discussed work on the then yet-untitled sci-Fi film. After that Mollo has been hired as a costume designer and wore the key characters of the Saga — Darth Vader, On Leia, Han Solo, Obi-WAN Kenobi and the stormtroopers. For the fourth episode of «Star wars» — «a New hope» — the artist has won an Oscar.

«For Darth Vader, I had to go to three departments (shopping center) — Church division over the cassock, the Department of modern clothing for motorcycle costume and in the military division for the German helmet and gas mask. We dazzled it all together, and turned Darth Vader,» said Mollo.
