Alexander Zhukov was stripped of his membership of the IOC

The head of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov was stripped of his membership of the IOC, reports RT with reference to the international Olympic Committee.

The Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee, which is chaired by the head of the organization, Thomas Bach, announced the decision with regards to the participation of Russian athletes in the upcoming Olympic games.

According to the Agency RT, the basis of the charges against the Russian team are the investigation committees under the leadership of Denis Oswald, and Samuel Schmid, who announced the adoption of a doping of the Russians at the Olympics in Sochi. The participants of the Russian national team had allegedly been doped with the connivance of sports officials.

The Kremlin said they did not believe these allegations to be substantiated.
